REIKI WITH YOU

A God-Centered Reiki Foundations Class

Welcome

I am so glad you are here.

This free foundational class was created to gently introduce you to Reiki in a way that feels peaceful, grounded, and aligned with faith.

If you are new to Reiki—or curious but cautious—you are in the right place.

This is a calm, respectful space to learn.

What is Reiki?

Reiki is a Japanese word traditionally written with two Kanji characters:

Rei — often translated as spiritually guided or sacred
Ki — meaning life energy or vitality

Historically, Reiki refers to a structured practice developed in Japan that teaches relaxation, compassionate presence, and supportive touch.

At New Earth Reiki Academy, Reiki is taught as a gentle method of relaxation and caregiving support.

We believe healing ultimately comes from God.

Reiki is not presented here as a religion or replacement for faith. Instead, it is one of the structured practices we use to help calm the nervous system, support the body’s natural ability to rest, and become more receptive to peace, prayer, and restoration.

Students are always encouraged to remain grounded in their personal relationship with God while learning these techniques.

Why Learn Reiki?

Many people come to Reiki during:

• caregiving seasons
• chronic illness
• pregnancy or motherhood
• stress and burnout
• grief or trauma recovery
• times of spiritual reflection

Reiki offers practical tools for:

• calming overwhelm
• increasing self-awareness
• supporting restful states
• cultivating compassionate presence
• offering comfort to loved ones

It is a skill—like learning breathwork, massage, or guided relaxation.

And it can be practiced gently and respectfully within a faith-centered life.

My Story

My journey into Reiki began during a deeply personal season of reflection, health challenges, and spiritual growth.

At that time, I was searching for ways to slow down, care for my body, and reconnect with God in a more intentional way.

Learning Reiki gave me a structured rhythm of rest. The daily practice encouraged me to be still, attentive, and prayerful. Over time, I experienced greater peace, clarity, and emotional steadiness.

Reiki did not replace my faith.

It helped me slow down enough to deepen it.

Through consistent self-care, prayer, wise counsel, and professional support where needed, I began to experience meaningful restoration in many areas of my life.

Today, I share Reiki in that same spirit — as a gentle, supportive practice that can complement a life rooted in God.

Is Reiki for Everyone?

Reiki can be learned by anyone who desires to practice a gentle relaxation technique.

It does not require adopting a belief system or changing your faith commitments.

In this program, Reiki is taught as a structured method of calm presence and intentional touch. It can be practiced quietly and prayerfully.

You are not unlocking hidden forces.

You are not accessing mystical power.

You are learning how to slow down.

To breathe.

To rest.

Many people find that when the body relaxes, they become more receptive to peace, gratitude, and trust in God’s design for restoration.

Reiki does not replace prayer.

It can simply create space for it.

Origin

In the following video, I share the story that I learned from my wonderful Reiki teacher about the Origin of Reiki as a healing and relaxation modality.

How Can I Learn and Practice Reiki?

1. The Academic Portion

A well-rounded Reiki training has two foundational components.

The first is the educational portion — which you are experiencing here through the videos and written lessons in this free class.

This part of the training provides you with a clear understanding of what Reiki is historically and practically. Reiki originated in Japan in the early 20th century as a gentle, touch-based practice intended to support relaxation and overall well-being.

In this free Reiki Level 1 class and optional by-donation attunement, you are learning:

• The history and origins of Reiki
• What “attunement” means within this tradition
• How Reiki is traditionally practiced
• Basic hand positions
• Self-Reiki techniques
• Ways to integrate Reiki into daily life
• How Reiki can complement prayer and professional care

Everything is explained slowly and clearly.

You are welcome to move at your own pace.

Learning Reiki as a self-practice does not require adopting any particular belief system. It is a structured method of slowing down, becoming present, and creating space for rest.

For those who hold the Christian faith — or any faith tradition— it is important to know with clarity:

Reiki is not the source of healing.

God is the healer.

Reiki can support relaxation by helping calm the nervous system and create a peaceful environment in which the body can rest and trust God’s design for healing.

This educational portion ensures you understand the practice fully, so you can approach it with clarity, trust, and confidence.

2. The Attunement

In traditional Reiki training, there is a special component known as an “Attunement.”

Within the Reiki lineage, this moment formally marks the beginning of a student’s practice. Historically, it is a brief, guided process led by a teacher to acknowledge your commitment to learning the technique and to welcome you into the tradition.

While some modern descriptions of attunement use ceremonial language, this class approaches it in a simple and grounded way.

The attunement offered here is a focused time of intention and blessing. It is a structured part of the Reiki training tradition, not a religious ritual and not a replacement for your faith.

Reiki itself is not the source of healing.

God is the healer.

Reiki is a gentle, touch-based relaxation method that may help calm the nervous system and create space for rest. Many people choose to approach their practice prayerfully, inviting God’s presence and guidance as they learn.

The attunement simply honors the historical structure of Reiki training while affirming your readiness to begin practicing with understanding and integrity.

Nothing is being added to you.

Nothing is being taken from you.

You are learning a relaxation technique within its traditional framework — while remaining grounded in your own faith and convictions.

What is an Attunement?

What happens after you finish this class?

If you have completed all of the videos and written lessons, you have received the full educational portion of this Reiki Level 1 training.

You now understand the history of Reiki, how it is traditionally practiced, and how to use it as a gentle self-care relaxation technique.

If you would like to continue with the certification, the next step is the optional Level 1 Attunement.

About Usui Reiki

This class follows the tradition of Usui Reiki, named after Mikao Usui, who introduced this practice in Japan in the early 20th century.

Many modern Reiki styles trace their roots back to this lineage.

In traditional training, students receive an attunement from a teacher as part of certification. In this course, the attunement is offered remotely in a simple, prayerful, and respectful way that honors the historical structure of Reiki training— from teacher to student.

The attunement, and the additional final information received afterwards, marks your completion of Level 1 training within this tradition and your readiness to begin practicing Reiki as a relaxation technique for yourself.

If you choose to receive the attunement, you will be recognized as having completed Usui Reiki Level 1 training and will receive an official certification document.

After the Attunement

Some Reiki traditions describe a 21-day integration period following Level 1. In this class, that period is simply viewed as a time to practice regularly, care for your body, and become familiar with the technique.

During that time, you are encouraged to:

• Stay hydrated
• Eat nourishing foods
• Rest well
• Practice gentle self-Reiki regularly
• Approach the practice prayerfully if that aligns with your faith

This is simply a period of integration and consistency as you build a new self-care habit.

The Levels of Usui Reiki

In traditional Usui Reiki training, there are typically three levels:

Level 1 – Focused on learning self-practice and understanding the foundations of Reiki.

Level 2 – Expands training to include offering Reiki to others and learning additional traditional techniques.

Level 3 (Master Level) – Prepares a student to teach and guide others through training if they choose.

These levels represent stages of education and responsibility within the tradition — not spiritual status or spiritual superiority.

This class was designed specifically for beginners who want to learn Usui Reiki Level 1 in a grounded, respectful, and faith-compatible way. Now that you have completed the academic portion, you are welcome to receive the Level 1 attunement if you feel comfortable continuing your training.

Your faith remains your foundation.

Reiki remains a relaxation practice.

God remains the healer.

Can I receive my Attunement from you, today?

Yes — if you feel ready to continue, you may receive your Level 1 Attunement today.

If you have completed the academic portion of this class and feel comfortable moving forward, the next step is simple.

Please watch the short video below, where I gently explain what to expect and how to prepare.

How can I receive my Attunement, Layla Marie?!?

It is an honor to serve as your Reiki teacher and guide you through this step.

In this program, the Attunement is offered as a guided experience of intention, preparation, and prayerful readiness to begin practicing Reiki in a grounded and respectful way.

Attunement and certification are available for those who would like to continue learning Reiki as a gentle relaxation technique that can complement prayer and professional care.

There is no pressure to proceed.
You are welcome to move forward only if it feels peaceful and aligned for you.

You may use the secure donation link below with STRIPE to continue.

If you prefer, you may also schedule a private session to receive your attunement in a more personalized setting.

Many practitioners describe Reiki as a gentle, non-invasive relaxation practice that is sometimes used as complementary support.

Supporting Environmental Stewardship

Instead of charging a traditional tuition fee, this program asks that you make a charitable donation of at least $33 to Imua Conservation Organization, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to protecting the Hawaiian Islands and the Tropical Pacific.

Your donation:

• Supports environmental preservation
• Honors the spirit of gratitude and stewardship
• Unlocks access to your Level 1 Attunement materials and certificate

If you are able and feel led, larger or recurring donations are deeply appreciated, though never required.

This contribution allows the course to remain accessible while also serving a meaningful cause.

What Happens After I Donate?

Once your donation is complete, you will immediately receive access to your attunement information and final Level 1 materials.

You will be recognized as having completed Usui Reiki Level 1 training.

There is no obligation to practice on others.
Many students choose to learn Reiki solely as a personal relaxation and self-care practice.

You are free to integrate it in whatever way aligns with your values and faith.
